TECHNICAL PROJECT mANAGER

ROLE
Our client is a leader in technology-driven third-party administration services for the U.S. life and annuity insurance industry, with offices in Ireland. As Technical Project Manager you will drive planning and delivery of solutions and business objectives.  You will be a self starter comfortable coordinating the initiatives of multiple matrixed teams and external clients in order to deliver according to plan and Service Level Agreement.  This position is a remote position (US hours) and reports into the Office of CIO.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage changes to project scope, schedule and costs
Communicate expectations in accordance with project plan, in order to align stakeholders and project team members
Measure project performance to identify and quantify variances and perform corrective actions
Execute tasks as defined in the project plan
Create project organisation structure by defining roles and responsibilities
Identify and mitigate project risks
Record detailed customer requirements, constraints and assumptions with stakeholders to establish project deliverables, using various requirement-gathering techniques (e.g. planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups).
Improve team performance by leading, mentoring, training, motivating and building team cohesiveness.
Communicate and provide support to stakeholders to establish strong rapport.

QUALIFICATIONS
BSc in Computer Science or B Business degree or equivalent qualification

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Five years of technical PM experience e.g. CAPM, PMP or similar
PMI-ACP, CSM or equivalent preferred
10 to 15 years total technology experience
Two to four years managing Agile projects
Knowledge of annuities and life products
Demonstrated ability to utilise various methodologies e.g. (Waterfall, SCRUM, Kanban)
Demonstrated understanding of project life cycle in complex technical environments
Knowledge of PM tools and software such as Jira, MS Suite
Lead in full project development lifecycle
Experience with third party system support in Financial Services
Knowledge of IT Systems, governance and compliance
Proven problem solving, decision making, analytical and organisational skills required
Ability to influence critical decision makers
Strong results orientation, organisation and management skills
Ability to lead others to an end goal successfully
Ability to drive results with cross functional teams in a matrixed organisation
Proven technical implementation experience
Ability to mentor jnr technical PMs
Ability to develop strong relationships and to manage change

3+ years experience as a DevOps Engineer or equivalent software engineering role
Expert in code development tools (Puppet, Ansible and Chef)
Management of AWS infrastructure which includes set up, monitoring and alerts, resource allocation and deployment architecture
Automation of development processes
Experience in network, server and application-status monitoring
Strong command of software-automation production systems (Jenkins and Selenium)
Working knowledge of Ruby or Python and known DevOps tools like Git and GitHub
Working knowledge of databases and SQL
